Business Owner FAQs

Do assistants get benefits?

Assistants are 1099 Contract Workers. You are not responsible for their income taxes or benefits.

How do I pay my assistant?

United States Virtual Assistants make between $25-$35/hour.  This is dependent upon the level of work skills they possess and the industry involved.  This is something Mills & Mae Services will discuss with you during our free initial consultations.  Payment can be bi-weekly, bi-monthly, or monthly.

What characteristics are you looking for when you are meeting assistants?

The first thing we look for in an assistant is someone that is willing to learn and is invested in what they do. We also look at skills, experiences, and trainings which are all beneficial, but we have found the most important characteristic is someone that is motivated to learn and grow.

What if it doesn’t work?

Mills and Mae Services helps write the contracts between business owners and the assistants. We always write a 90-day trial period clause into the contracts. This ensures that if the business owner or the assistant decides the connection isn’t working, both parties can come back to Mills & Mae to ask for new connections.   This comes at no extra cost for either party, and it is covered under that original one-time flat rate fee.

Where do you find the assistants?

We are experts at networking and connecting people. Every day, we meet people from all over the United States and learn about what they are passionate about. Then, we help them find business owners that we hope will be the perfect fit for everyone involved.
