As a former Elementary and then Preschool Teacher, I know what it is like to wear multiple hats all day, everyday, and have to juggle a ton of different tasks and demands all at the same time.
I was so blessed to be able to teach at the same school as my oldest child when he was in Preschool. Then, our fiery red-headed daughter was born in 2022. I had full plans to go back to teaching, but after postpartum depression and a hard re-evaluation, I realized I needed something different for my family.
So, in September of 2022, I quit my job as a Preschool teacher. That same night, I went on FaceBook (as one does) and put together a post with my Preschool class photo and a caption that read “Who Needs A Virtual Assistant?” I officially launched my next chapter!
Within 24 hours, I had received 8 job offers from all over the country, from just my own small circle of influence. Now, this is not common and not the standard. But what it really showed me was this industry of being a Remote Assistant (otherwise known as Virtual Assistant) is huge!
I jumped in all the way! I took on two business owners from that batch. Since then I have personally worked as a Remote Assistant for an Author, Executive Coach, Pelvic Floor Physical Therapist, and a Gym Owner. I’m telling you, the industries are endless for this type of work.
Fast forward to the middle of 2023. I am LOVING this new position I am in. I love the business owners I work for. And I am telling anyone and everyone that will listen.
This very quickly led to friends, family, and random acquaintances asking, “So, you are a Remote Assistant? What is that? And, how do I become one?!” Then, I started meeting with business owners who were looking for assistants and started helping them.
That’s when I realized… I’m in. This is what I need to do.
Remember how I jumped two feet in when I decided I wanted to be a Remote Assistant?! Well, that’s how I live most of my life. I jumped two feet in and launched this second half of Mills & Mae Services in February of 2024.
Mills & Mae Services LLC now coaches and connects Remote Assistants all across the United States with amazing, hard-working business owners who need to spend more time working ON their business rather than IN their business.
So, that’s the story. And it’s not the end… It’s only just the beginning!
